¹ Note (checked 2026-10-12): OpenExamPrep's CIPLE A2 page states “Passing Score: 55% overall, with a minimum of 25% in each of the three components” and “Exam / Certification Fees: Approximately EUR 75-85 (varies by exam centre)” (open-exam-prep.com). CAPLE's official CIPLE page gives a pass from 55% overall (Suficiente 55–69%, Bom 70–84%, Muito Bom 85–100%), publishes no per-section minimum, and lists the fee (propina) as €95 (caple.letras.ulisboa.pt). How to choose
- Start with the official sample. CAPLE's free paper shows the real task types. Do it once before paying for anything.
- Many papers, low price, you mark writing yourself: PortugalTest (2 free, €19 for the rest) or CipleOnline (€69 for 20).
- A full course with AI marking of writing and recorded speaking: CIPLE Ready.
- Free grammar and vocabulary drilling: OpenExamPrep (not a timed mock).
- A timed mock in the CAPLE format with a live spoken examiner and a scored report, a few weeks before exam day: Prep2Go. One code · 3 full reports · share with your household — each run uses one report from the same pack.
Whatever you pick, check how it handles speaking. On the day you speak with an examiner, usually alongside another candidate, for about 15 minutes. Reading a model answer is not the same as answering out loud under time pressure.
What every mock should match
CAPLE's format: Reading & Writing 1h15 (45%), Listening 30 min (30%), Speaking about 15 min per pair (25%). You pass with 55% overall (Suficiente 55–69, Bom 70–84, Muito Bom 85–100). CAPLE publishes no minimum per section. The fee is €95. For the November 2026 sitting (5 Nov 2026 at most centres, 7 Nov 2026 at LAPE-FLUL Lisbon), registration closes 20 Oct 2026; check your centre.
